Buffet breakfast at hotel .Morning: Sightseeing tour of Old Delhi .Old Delhi is the 300-year-old walled city built by Emperor Shah Jehan in 1648 as his capital and named after him. Visit the magnificent Visit Red Fort (closed on Monday) built of red sandstone. Within its walls are marble palaces and a grand audience chamber, the Diwan-i-Khas, where Moghul emperors held court and the Peacock Throne once stood. Opposite the fort are the black and white onion dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. Drive past Kotla Firoze Shah, ruins of an old fort of the 14th century with the 13 meters high Ashoka Pillar of 3rd BC. Visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948.
Afternoon: Sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Drive past the imposing India Gate - a War Memorial Arch, the residence of the President - the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Parliament House and other government buildings. Visit Humayun’s Tomb – the first great example of a new and distinctive style, which developed to become the hallmark of the Mughal Dynasty. Also visit the Qutab Minar (Tower of Victory) – a masterpiece built to establish the might of Islam and the onset of the Muslim rule in India.Following sightseeing tour, return back to hotel .Overnight at hotel – New Delhi (B)
Morning: Transfer to Agra Cantt railway station to board 12002.Agra – Khajuraho (B) Bhopal Shatabdi Express at 08:06 hrs to Jhansi. Situated in the heart of India in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho lies in the forested plains of the region of Bundelkhand and world renowned for its temple architecture and exquisite sculptures. Built under later Chandela kings between 950 and 1050 AD in a truly inspired burst of creativity, the temples are superb examples of Indo-Aryan architecture. The engravings on these temples are highly sensual and erotic that depicts in graceful forms intimate scenes of the whole range of human emotions and relationships. Buffet breakfast at hotel Morning: Sightseeing tour of Khajuraho .Western group of temples: the most spectacular of which are the Kandariya Mahadev, Vishvanath and Lakshman. Soft buff-colored sandstone was used in the construction of these temples, which made possible the exquisite intricacy displayed here. Kandariya Mahadev, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is the most impressive temple of these and represents the high point of North Indian temple art and architecture. It is notable for its grand dimensions and over 800 sculptures cover the temple, depicting gods and goddesses, beasts, warriors, sensuous maidens, dancers, musicians and the erotic scenes for which the Khajuraho temples are famous.
Eastern Group of Temples, located a short distance away. The largest temple here is the Jain Parsvanath, which was built in 950 AD and is most remarkable for the intricately carved ceiling pendants in its entrance porch. There are various beautiful sculptures on the northern outer wall depicting everyday activity in charming detail. On the southern wall are the sura-sundaries (celestial beauties) - one applying make-up and another removing a thorn from her feet. The other well-known temple here is the Adinath Temple that has fine carvings on its three bands of sculptures. Bandhavgarh National Park is spread over the Vindhya hills in Madhya Pradesh. The park consists of a core area of 105 sq km and a buffer area of approximately 400 sq km of topography that varies between steep ridges, undulating, forest and open meadows. It is popularly known for the Royal Bengal Tigers & the density of the Tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India.
